Chairs and auditions
What is a chair?
A seat in a tune for one instrument, for example tenor sax. You claim a chair to record your part for it. One real player ends up in each chair.
How do I claim a chair?
Open the tune, find an open chair, and tap Claim chair. It is yours to record on. If you change your mind, you can release it again.
How do I audition?
Some chairs are listed as open for audition. Find one on the Auditions page or inside a tune, record your part against the backing track, and submit it. The person running the tune listens and locks in the take that fits the record.
Can I hold more than one chair?
Yes. Play alto and bari on the same tune if you want. Each chair is recorded separately.
How do I get picked?
Play it well and submit a clean take. The producer listens to everyone who auditioned and locks the one that suits the track. Good level, in time, in tune, in the pocket.
